Local Legends visit Penticton

When the Vancouver Canucks brought training camp to Penticton this year, they didn’t just stop at the rink. Canucks mascot Fin and franchise legend Kirk McLean stopped by our Fraser Valley Wireless store in Cherry Lane Shopping Centre for a meet-and-greet.

Kirk McLean is one of the most recognizable names in Canucks history, and having him in-store meant a lot to fans who grew up watching him between the pipes. He and Fin spent time signing autographs, posing for photos, and meeting fans face to face, the kind of moment that doesn’t usually happen outside the arena.

There was plenty to go around beyond the photos: customers had a chance to enter to win prizes, everyone who stopped by picked up some free swag, and any customer who made a purchase in-store that day walked away with a Canucks jersey.

We’re grateful for the chance to bring a piece of Canucks history to Penticton and spend an afternoon connecting with the community that supports us all year.

Bringing hometown heroes a little closer to home is exactly the kind of moment we love being part of.
